1. Professor Ruth Muwazi PhD – Chair Person
A HERS-SA Alum (2005) Prof Muwazi has multiple competencies including but not limited to doctoral supervisor, Makerere University; Quality assurance and auditing in higher institutions of learning, Makerere University; Proposal writing, Training Coordinator for the Multiple Entry-Multiple exit Skills programs at the Africa Institute for Strategic Animal Resource Services and Development (AFRISA); Deputy Principal (2012/3) of the College of Veterinary Medicine, animal Industry and Bio-security, Makerere University
2. Dr Irene Naigaga – Secretary
Dr Naigaga is a holder of a PhD (Ichthyology and Fisheries Science: 2013) and a Master of Science (Ichthyology) from Rhodes University, South Africa; Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Postgraduate Diploma (Wildlife Health and Management, 2000), Makerere University, Uganda. She is currently a Lecturer and Trainer - Africa Institute for Strategic Services and Development(AFRISA);One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA) Focal Person, Uganda
3. Ms Naomi Lumutenga – Coordinator andTreasurer
A holder of an MA in Education (Policy) from the University of London, a BA Economics and Dip Ed from Makerere University and a Diploma in Education Management from Leicester University (UK).
Naomi has worked extensively in the non-governmental sector at local, national and international levels. She was a member of the General Synod of the Church of England (National governing council) for 12 years; during that period she was elected to serve on various Boards tasked with advising the UK government on Social Policy. She was a member of Her Majesty’s Appointment Board which appoints Diocesan Bishops in England. She also worked as an advisor to the Anglican Observer at the UN and facilitated workshops at the 51st, 52nd and 53rd UN Committee on Status of Women (CSW) at the UN Secretariat in New York. Naomi recently returned to
Uganda and helped to plan and steer the HERS-EA project as Vice-Chair to Professor Margaret Khaitsa.
4. Ms Susan Kasula Munabi – Volunteer Administrator
A graduate of Makerere University (Bachelor of Science in Math and Psychology), and currently enrolled into a Master of Adult and Community Education at Makerere University. Susan also has a Certificate in Leadership and Managerial skills. She is skilled at designing, implementing and maintaining study databases such as MS Access, MS Excel, Power point, Word, STATA, HMIS System and HMIS tools. Also, Susan has experience in Counseling and has participated in Quantitative Methods in Clinical and public Health Research.
